| Artist Statement |

As an installation artist, I seek to explore human relations and their social context by means of sOUNd struCtures, which merge audio and/or visual landscapes with narrative storytelling. In my work, narrative can be addressed as a signifier of both, PERSONAL and PUBLIC spaces, which are reconfigured by the deconstruction and spacialization of story-LINES. Thus, textual sound and SPACE are connected, in a way in which each acts upon the other and gives shape to aural description. In this process space represents sound as something visible, and sound represents space as something audible. By creating compositions that re-arrange preRECORDED sounds with narrative fragments, my installations engage the viewer in a conceptual and musical discourse, which emphasizes aural privacy and our aesthetic sense of space. I feel strongly that the source and the process by which these soundSCAPES are created are as important, if not more so, than their aesthetic presentation.
